I knew that buying our first home would be slightly stressful- granted, much of the stress we have brought upon ourselves- but I had no idea it would be like this! Our closing took three hours (thank God our realtor loves us- at least she did before all this!!!), and then when we finally stepped into our perfect little house it was not quite as perfect as we remembered...Isn't it funny that when you decide to purchase a home you've most likely spent a total of ONE HOUR inside before making an offer. I have spent more time comtemplating buying a pair of shoes! Needless to say there were some nooks and crannies that we took for perfect and are far from it...It doesn't help that I'm completely OCD- non-matching door knobs, had to be replaced; doors that stuck when opening and closing, had to be shaved down; mis-matched baseboards, had to be corrected; dirty closets, each and every one of them had to be painted; all the electric plugs and switches, had to be replaced; yucky kitchen, had to be gutted. Yes, you read that correctly. We decided (correction, Brian decided) at about 7pm that our kitchen had to go. I walked in to crow bars hitting our 88 year old plaster soffit... Ah, home ownership. A paintbrush has touched every single room (and basement), moldings have been added and replaced, vents have been cleaned, appliances have been purchased and we are finally (almost) ready to move in! We still have a ton to do but the movers come tomorrow!!! Thank goodness because I'm tired of sleeping on an air mattress and picking paint out of my hair after a 14 hour day!!!

The pictures of destruction are priceless- as soon as we get our computer up (which entails finding our computer) I'll post them... Some before and afters are also coming your way...
