Double Trouble

When we found out we were having twins everyone told us 'do NOT buy two of everything.' So far we've pretty much adhered to that advice (except for car seats, cribs and highchairs). Last week, however, I broke down and bought another walker. They both loved the one we had so much that I thought each of them needed one...perhaps I should have thought my decision through a little more. They are terrors. Their favorite thing to do is chase the dog and pull on my curtains. Super.

Thank God! Last night Brian went to the Bruce Springstein concert and wanted to 'show it off' one last time...

This morning when he got his hung-over-self out of bed the first thing I made him do was take it off- even before coffee! I cannot begin to tell you how nice it is to kiss a smooth face again! No more mustaches!!!

Match Day

On Thursday afternoon we gathered with the rest of Brian's class for match day. At around noon they started calling out names and students went up on stage to read their 'match' aloud to everyone- it was the first time they found out where they would be for the next four years. Intense to say the least. Every year they have a theme- this year it was March Madness, hence the warm-ups.

We're headed to ST. LOUIS- Brian's first choice!!! We are thrilled! It's the best of everything- an incredible program and hospital, my parents are there, and Brian's are only a short drive away...

As many of you know, Brian has not shaved since his last interview in January! As promised, here are some pics of the match day stache...

Fin clearly did not share in our excitement...she was asleep half way through the ceremony!

Swim Lessons!

We recently switched gyms and now belong to the YMCA (they have FREE childcare while you work out! Our other gym charged $5 per kid per hour!). I thought it would be super fun to sign the babes up for swim lessons...We signed up for beginner- I think the description says something about getting children used to the water and losing the fear. Perfect. Well, all the other kids in the class are 4 or 5 and can actually kick when the instructor says to. The lessons are only 30 minutes long, however, they're 20 minutes away. Oh, did I mention they start at 5:45pm? Right in the middle of rush hour traffic and the babies dinnertime... Needless to say we won't be signing up again for a few years...

Mimi came with us on Monday and snapped a few pics while we dashed to strip down and get suited up before our lessons began.

Mo

Last week we took the babes to visit their Great Grandma Mo - she's 96 years old!

Sharing

The twins have a new game...it's called the stealing game. Anything you give them, the other one wants. For example, you can hand Fin a stuffed animal and all of the sudden whatever Parker has becomes sub-par. He immediately goes to steal his sister's toy. Today I caught them in the act...

Finley is completely uninterested in her brother until I handed him a mirror to play with...

She goes in for the kill

Parker hangs on for dear life

Success! Parker tries in vain to regain the upper hand

No chance...

Fin is victorious...it goes on like this all day

New Shades

Last Saturday I ran a 10k and at the finish line Brian commented that we needed to get the babes some sunglasses. Buy something for our little ones?! No problem! I went on the hunt and found some for Fin and some aviators for Parker. You've all been asking about the hideous mustache my husband has decided to grow for match day and the infant aviators semmed the perfect prop for the photo shoot~ those pics coming soon...

Teething

Today was a rough day- a really rough day. We are blessed to have the best babies in the world (no bias!) so when they cry and scream all day something must really be bothering them. I think we have entered the teething phase. Nothing seems to help- distraction, cold rags, frozen teethers, cold fruit, biter biscuits, nothing. It is so heartbreaking to know that your babies are in pain and not be able to do anything about it...

Through it all they still manage to be pretty cute...
