We started the babes on solid food at four months. So far they have had (and LOVED) sweet potatoes, green beans, peas (which I highly advise not trying to make yourself- it's nearly impossible to strain the skins), carrots, squash, and every once and awhile prunes (again, better to buy than make- I didn't even try). Despite our repeat efforts, they have HATED peaches, pears, and apples (although if we add cinnamon they seem to go down a little better)...

Out of all the reactions, nothing quite compares to squash. Finley goes crazy for it. Literally.

Our babies hate to sit up...they do the archy-back thing and go straight as a board. They're only happy when standing. Something tells me we are going to have late crawlers and early walkers. Notice the one hand hold- she's five months old and totally showing off...

Since being born our babes have been on many a cross country trip...our latest was to Virginia and North Carolina (we just returned a few days ago). Unfortunately, both Parker and Finley got their first cold right before we left on Saturday...

This is how little Parker looked a few hours before we left-

Of course Finley and I caught the cold a few days later, making the trip oh so much fun. It's hard enough to sleep with two infants in a hotel room, try doing it with two sick babes.

We did, however, have good times at Monticello and in Charlotte. We fell in love with the city and, hopefully, will end up there after Brian's residency... Brian's interviews at Duke and University of Virginia went well- if only our parents would move to Durham, Duke would be our first choice!

Just in case you were wondering how much luggage was required for a night's stay in a hotel we snapped a pic...heads shook everywhere when we walked into hotels. You could just see the relief on people's faces as we struggled through the lobbies- 'thank god it's not us'

2007 was a BIG year for the Meek family~ got my masters, planned a destination wedding, got married, had two kids... Let's hope 2008 is a little less exciting!

For the first time since eighth grade I watched Dick and the Ball drop on New Year's Eve- when I put it like that it kinda sounds like I had a good night, instead of the lay-around-in-my-pajamas-not-having-showered-in-two-days-drinking-a-bottle-
of-CVS-champagne evening that really transpired. Man, when they say "everything changes" they really aren't joking...

Here are the last pics of 2007-
