They say that pregnant women go through a 'nesting phase' near the end of their pregnancy...I think my accessorizing, err nesting, phase started the day I found out we were expecting. Although we're still waiting on a few things, the babies' room is officially ready for babies.

Week 36

When we first met our new OB (at 32 weeks) we had an ultrasound and scheduled our appointments through to week 36. I thought to myself then that there was no way these little guys would stay in that long...it seems I make quite a comfy home. So comfy in fact, that our babies have grown to be OVER 7.5 POUNDS EACH! Yes, that means I'm officially carrying around 15 pounds of baby and have a belly measurement of 53 cm (official measure docs use from pelvic bone to the top of the uterus)! Rule of thumb is 1 cm for every week of singelton pregnancy, so you can see my stomach is out of control. The good news is that Parker has turned head down (he has been transverse for the entire pregnancy) and they seem to be ready to go. I hope so! I'm not sure how many more pounds of baby my uterus can hold!

Danger Zone

We have officially made it past the 'danger zone'...once past this point the odds of them spending time in the NICU are slim! During week 34 and 35 our little ones learned (we hope) to breathe, suck and swallow all at the same time...I'm not sure how easily they caught on, however, as my belly has been full of hiccupping babies the past few weeks! We can have them any time now and have 'term' babies!

Somewhere over the past month I went from being pregnant to being 'whoa, you're really pregnant'...not quite sure when my belly started looking less like a belly and more like a carnival freak show (I cannot even begin to tell you about the comments I have received), but I thought I would share the progression...
